Light + Fit’s passion goes beyond delicious, crave-worthy food and drinks: we’re on a mission to empower women in their lives and in the workplace.
From the lack of paid family leave to limited childcare resources, women have left the workforce in alarming numbers – with the largest drop happening in 2020 due to the pandemic. And while women have been returning to work since then, as of September 2023, labor force participation for women was at 58.9% compared to 70.6% for men*. These gaps in employment make it more difficult to get re-hired.
Light + Fit is eager to be part of the solution. We understand that women’s unique life experiences and skills are valuable and necessary in today’s workforce – and we’ve created a way to help women re-enter the workplace.
For the second consecutive year, we’re taking action to help empower women to work towards economic equity with our paid EmpowHERship return-to-work program. The EmpowHERship aims to help women re-enter the workplace in a role at Danone North America, where they can gain valuable experience and embark on the next chapter of their careers after an extended break of one year of longer. The 12-week paid program provides training and mentorship in a collaborative and supportive workplace environment, with additional opportunities to help employees ramp up and re-acclimate to the workplace.
